As President of Esprit Health, Mr. Pierce is responsible for overall strategic management and development of its product strategy and design. Esprit systems are a result of his experience in both case management and systems development.
Most recently, Mr. Pierce was Senior Vice President for Product development at Medicus Systems Corporation. In that capacity he was responsible for the overall design and development of Medicus' information systems products. His key contribution was the migration of the Medicus product line onto the Windows '95 platform based on object oriented technologies.
Prior to Medicus, he was President and CEO of MDAX Corporation. From 1983 until its acquisition by Johnson and Johnson in 1991, MDAX grew to include a comprehensive set of PC based systems for nursing service management with nearly 150 client hospitals nationwide. As President of MDAX, Mr. Pierce obtained its initial equity capitalization, provided management, and lead the company through the acquisition process.
Mr. Pierce is a published author on nurse scheduling, nurse staffing, and resource management and is a nationally known consultant and speaker in these areas. He has more than 25 years experience in management consulting with health care organizations.
Prior to founding MDAX he served as Senior Vice President of Whittaker Medicus, a $40 million management consulting firm specializing in management services and computer technology in the health care field.
